     The Savannah Chapter of the American Red Cross would like to take this opportunity to announce our Second Annual Conference entitled CARING During Disasters, Pandemics and Other Extreme Conditions. We are very excited to offer you an opportunity to sponsor our event, while promoting your business or cause. The conference will be held on April 16, 2010 at Armstrong Atlantic State University from 8am to 5pm.

Dr James Geiling will speak on “Whom Doctors Should Let Die in a Pandemic or Disaster.” One of the objectives of the conference is to make these 2008 recommendations more transparent to the non-medical person. Amanda Ripley, author and senior writer for Time magazine will speak on “Who Survives When Disaster Strikes – and Why,” the psychology and physiology of fear. Dr Kristine Gebbie will open the conference by reviewing the American Nurses Associations 2008 “Standards of Care Under Extreme Conditions – and When to Implement Them.”

We will also have fifteen Concurrent Sessions in the afternoon that will educate nurses, doctors, hospital administrators, first responders – police, firemen, emergency medical technicians, anyone involved in disasters, including Red Cross staff & volunteers and the general public. We will advertise this event locally through print and radio advertisements as well as public service announcements and promotional materials.

We are offering five Sponsorship Levels and details are attached. There are many ways that a company or individual can participate through sponsorship and our hope is that you will desire to contribute in some way toward this event to benefit the emergency community and improve outcomes when we are faced with a disaster.

If your company would like to contribute in this manner, we will provide you with the non-profit tax information so that you may receive all tax benefits. We anticipate that our combined efforts for this event will build a better prepared community and improve our ability to support individuals and businesses during the time of most urgent need.
